Feedback EU is looking for a treasurer of the Board / Penningmeester voor het bestuur.
The Board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the foundation, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines. Within the Board, the Treasurer acts as the financial expert , leading the financial strategy and ensuring the financial stability and governance of the organisation. (Please note: this is an unsalaried position. Appropriate expenses associated with travel, etc will be reimbursed.)
Main duties
- To contribute actively to the Board in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
- To provide oversight of Feedback’s financial processes and controls, ensuring appropriate adherence to legal and accounting requirements
- To liaise with the Chair of the Board and the Executive Director on strategic financial matters
- To ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives
- To advise on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plan
- To ensure that the organisation has an appropriate investment policy
Person specification
Essential
- Passionate to support an organization addressing systemic change of our food system, promoting better food, good for people and our planet
- Relevant accounting experience
- Sound judgment, integrity and independence, coupled with tact and diplomacy
- Organised, efficient and responsive
Desirable
- Board level experience with a good understanding of governance
- Experience of successful business/organisational management and leadership
- An understanding of managing financial risks and opportunities in a rapidly expanding organisation
- Attuned to the culture and dynamics of a young NGO seeking radical change
- Because of the composition of our board we prefer a person based in the Netherlands, preferable with Dutch language skills.
